RESTON, VA, March 28, 2005 – NetGain Communications (NetGain), a telecommunications consultancy and master agency that specializes in providing medium and large businesses with superior telecommunications solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide Miles & Stockbridge P.C., a leading law firm practicing in the Baltimore and Washington metropolitan region, with advanced network services.
Under the terms of the agreement, NetGain will manage the conversion of Miles & Stockbridge’s voice and data services to a new telecommunications carrier – PaeTec Communications (PaeTec). NetGain will facilitate the services transfer for Miles & Stockbridge’s eight locations across Maryland and Virginia. In addition to implementing new voice services, PaeTec will provide the law firm with an Internet Protocol (IP)-based data network solution, allowing geographically dispersed offices to seamlessly communicate under a single infrastructure. The carrier solution is based on Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) which will enable Miles & Stockbridge to converge their voice and data services at a future date onto PaeTec’s private IP backbone network.

Miles & Stockbridge has recently experienced significant organic growth resulting in a staff that numbers nearly 200 lawyers and is continuing to grow. As such, the firm required more cost-efficient networking services capable of supporting multiple locations and an expanding staff. Working with NetGain and PaeTec, Miles & Stockbridge has the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a converged network system – linking voice and data via IP. Supporting all eight of Miles & Stockbridge’s offices, NetGain’s recommendation will decrease the firm’s annual costs for these services by nearly forty-five (45) percent. In addition to savings, Miles & Stockbridge’s locations will benefit from the capacity to access applications across the entire network at enhanced speed.
